Bryan James has an extensive background in music. He has worked with many powerful songwriters, worked with major label A&R greats, promoted music for radio airplay and toured with a band. In January 2016, he and his brother took over ETM Records to develop his own song catalog....and get well written songs by polished writer/performers into the digital and compilation marketplace. When a writer has spent thousands of dollars on production and the song is ready or near ready for the marketplace, but has been passed on then ETM might just be the right place.

Rough, rugged and chock-full of melody, Bryan James is an American cowboy. West Texas born and raised, James is as close as you can get to a traditional country singer these days, and he's not so much about reinventing the wheel as he is rejuvenating it. But, he sings with some of the Pop singers you hear today on Smule.

Writing songs began to pay off, and in 1992 he was offered a recording contract with Sony Epic – but then tragedy struck. He was involved in an automobile accident that left him partially paralyzed with spinal cord damage and a traumatic brain injury. Needing nearly two years to recover, his record contract was taken off the table and his life was completely derailed. “I am still trying to overcome the car wreck,” he said. “There was life before and after that terrible day and they are two distinctly different lives.

But just 'cause trouble comes visiting doesn't mean you have to offer it a place to sit down – and Bryan James has managed to keep his music career alive, and thrive. He's worked with some of the most respected musicians in the genre, including a notable collaboration with Wood Newton titled “Far Cry From You.” Bryan has had over 10 cuts released worldwide. Bryan has been in music videos for several recording artists including George Strait. His resume is full of movie, commercial and print spots which have been seen all over the world.

ETM Records is small and pivots around Bryan but its growth is obviously expanding with Jazz pianist, Julian Vick. Julian has an August release date scheduled. If you have a radio quality demo and the song concept is good, ETM might be the place get some momentum for it.
